For our Working at Heights course, we developed the character who we would affectionately name Hazard Hank. Due to the limited budget of the project, we couldn’t afford to stage workplace accidents. So that’s where our animated character came in. Using just still images to work with, I tried to do my best Roger Rabbit by having the animated character come across real world workplace hazards.
In the end, Hazard Hank had a pretty G-rated life in our course. Some of my initial animations featuring Hazard Hank ended with him in pretty rough shape, or worse, due to very real consequences of ignoring safety hazards or using safety equipment incorrectly.
